#whyTHISmatters

I am taking a break from the description of various social media platforms to talk about another aspect of Marketing that has evolved in the last few years. A classmate of mine wrote a post on hashtags and how to effectively use them on social media to link like-minded consumers which led me to the idea of exploring how hashtags can be used in B2B Marketing as well. The #Hashtag has become increasingly popular since its launch on Twitter in 2007, and, if used appropriately, hashtags will drive revenue.  The word or phrase (written with no spaces, of course!) is an easy way to not only create engagement but also to better understand consumers and increase number of prospects. When you pick a hashtag, it must be relevant and useful. If too narrow or inappropriate, there will be no use; if you're too broad, there will be too much noise and you won't be able to filter the information to that which you are hoping to obtain.  One of the most effective ways to reach you...

Back to Facebook

Back to Facebook I feel the need to circle back for the day to review Facebook a little more. Two posts ago, I talked about Facebook and the ease at which marketers can advertise on the platform. I was scrolling through Social Media Today this morning, though, and found an article titled "Facebook Announces New Guidelines on Content Monetization and Advertising Censorship." To keep you all up to date, I figured I should provide the new insights and highlights that come directly from the article (http://www.socialmediatoday.com/social-networks/facebook-announces-new-guidelines-content-monetization-and-advertising-censorship).  What is Facebook : a social media platform that gives tools to marketers for content sharing Why they're changing advertising rules : "At Facebook, we take very seriously our responsibility to earn and maintain the trust of our advertiser partners - and give them the confidence they need to invest in us. Which is why today, we're intro...

Influencer Marketing and Instagram

Influencer Marketing and Instagram The natural disasters that have occurred in the last week have been absolutely devastating, so I hope that my readers and their families have stayed safe. Coming from Texas and attending school in Georgia, I have seen more destruction in the last week than in my life. If you are looking for a place to donate, please comment your email address, and I will send you a list of sites to donate to. Going back to my recent blog posts, I have taken a look at two social media platforms: Snapchat and Facebook. I am researching each of the social media platforms to determine which platforms are most useful for each type of business. Currently, my study is still broad; before I dive into each industry, I am looking at the individual platforms.  Today, I am looking at and evaluating the platform Instagram. The idea that influencer marketing has led Instagram to changing their platform originated from the article "Instagram Expands Access to Brand...

With Facebook's Capabilities, Why Don't More Marketers Use it?

With Facebook's Capabilities, Why Don't More Marketers Use it? Last week, I analyzed Snapchat, the mobile application that has exploded in the last few years. I worked through a few articles that explored the recent developments that the application has used and explained how the application could be a huge opportunity for companies targeting millennials. Facebook has been around for some time now. This platform of social media is used for sharing articles, photos and posts between friends. It has a further reach though than Snapchat and its' capabilities are nearly endless. The following post will walk you through how marketers can use Facebook for business purposes. Step 1: Find Marketing Ad Goal Objective 3 Options: Raise Awareness, Grow Engagement, Boost Conversation *You have chosen Raise Awareness* Step 2: Determine More Specific Awareness Objective  3 Options: Brand Awareness Objective, Reach Objective, Video Views Objective  ...

Advertising Opportunity for Companies Targeting Millennials

Advertising Opportunity for Companies Targeting Millennials               What originally started as a friend to friend means of sending instant photos/videos has become an increasingly popular social media platform for businesses trying to reach their consumers. Companies who target the millennial audience must keep up with the technological changes, like mobile apps such as Snapchat, if they want to stay competitive. Marketers must be willing to change their advertising techniques to adapt to a world where target markets want their goods immediately and at the ease of their fingertips.             Snapchat has recognized the incredible opportunity of reaching this seemingly impossible target market and has changed their platform to increase the ease at which marketers can advertise to these consumers. I recently discovered Social Media Today and have invested some ti...
